What You’ll Lead

As Water Foreman, you’ll guide the field execution of the City’s water line construction, maintenance, and repair work—helping keep service reliable and safe for the community. You will plan, coordinate, and supervise public works crews, set daily priorities, ensure safe traffic control practices, and communicate clearly with residents and other stakeholders.

Required qualifications/skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year prior supervisory experience plus 3 years in related public works
- Valid Colorado driver’s license, Class CDL/B
- Current CDPHE Water Distribution Class 2 Certification
- Qualified heavy equipment operator; good physical condition
- Knowledge of street and water construction and the MUTCD
- Ability to follow written/oral instructions, organize crews, and meet effectively with the public
- Available for on-call emergency response

A Typical Shift

Your week runs Monday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Mornings start with a quick check-in on active work sites, crew readiness, and any overnight service issues. You’ll balance planned projects with unexpected needs, coordinate with other City teams when schedules intersect, and spend time in the field verifying progress and safety setup. Throughout the day, you’ll handle questions from residents, document updates, and adjust plans as conditions change. When emergencies arise, you may be contacted after hours to support timely response and restoration.
