Job Summary:

The College of Agricultural Sciences is seeking a Coordinator of the Leadership Academy. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, professional faculty position.

The College of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for an academic year position as Coordinator of the Leadership Academy beginning Fall of 2026.  The coordinator will oversee the Leadership Academy, guide development efforts, and provide administrative expertise to support its continued growth and development.

The purpose of the Leadership Academy is to develop the whole student to succeed and thrive as they advance their careers to provide food, fiber, water, fuel and shelter for the growing world.  The College of Agricultural Sciences Leadership Academy, jointly serving College of Forestry as well, prepares students to effectively lead themselves and others by providing vital leadership perspectives from academic and industry professionals.

Guided by our purpose, we are a dynamic, nationally recognized college leadership development program that produces graduates who are lifelong learners and leaders in their industries, with the vision, passion and drive to make an impact in their world. Our graduates possess a concern for humanity, motivation for excellence, and an ability to create positive outcomes in their homes, communities, and professions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, maintain, and oversee all program communications.
  • Develop and maintain a robust advertising, marketing, and development plan for the Leadership Academy.
  • Design, develop, and conduct Leadership Academy development campaigns (e.g. End of year, Dam Proud, Giving Tuesday, etc.) and promote industry sponsorships.
  • Establish and maintain donor relations.
  • Represent the Leadership Academy, as needed, at donor specific events including field days, open houses, dean’s dinners, and career fairs.
  • Connect with and cultivate relationships with alumni, guest speakers, and program supporters.
  • Assist and facilitate weekly seminar leadership development workshops.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in agricultural sciences, fisheries and wildlife, forestry, natural resources, business, administration, education, or leadership. OR equivalent combination of education and at least 3 years of experience in agricultural sciences, fisheries and wildlife, forestry, natural resources program development, administration, or leadership education.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in agricultural sciences, fisheries and wildlife, forestry, natural resources, business, administration, education, or leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in managing organizational marketing and/or development (fundraising).
  • Experience working effectively with colleagues across units and levels of an organization.
  • Ability to create and facilitate the distribution of marketing and fundraising materials.
  • A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing inclusive excellence.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Evidence of advanced skills in written and oral communication.
