Job Summary:

This is an Internal Employment Opportunity

Student Care in department of the Dean of Students is seeking a Student Care Triage Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Student Care Triage Coordinator serves as a primary daytime access point for non-emergency student concerns received by Student Care. The Student Care Triage Coordinator reviews and prioritizes incoming reports and consultations; conducts timely needs, risk, and resource screening within the scope of the position; provides brief, non-clinical stabilization and case coordination; and connects students with appropriate university and community resources through warm handoffs. When established criteria are met, the Student Care Triage Coordinator may provide limited in-person response on the Corvallis campus Monday through Friday during established university business hours to support immediate stabilization, consultation, and connection to care.

The Student Care Triage Coordinator collaborates closely with Student Care case managers, Counseling and Psychological Services, Public Safety, emergency responders, academic and student support units, and community partners. The Student Care Triage Coordinator also advances proactive support by providing consultation, education, and practical skill-building that help campus partners identify distress, respond effectively, and connect students to support earlier. This position does not provide psychotherapy, clinical diagnosis, emergency medical care, law-enforcement services, transportation, after-hours coverage, or an alternative to 911 or other emergency response. Ongoing and complex case management is transferred to the appropriate case manager or specialized service after initial stabilization and documented handoff.

  • Triage, Rapid Assessment, and Consultation
  • Brief Case Coordination, Student Support, and Care Transitions
  • Training, Education, and Capacity Building
  • Limited Daytime In-Person Response
  • Partnership, Collaboration, and Program Assessment

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Three or more years of professional experience working with or supporting people in high need, emotional, or crisis situations.

  • Excellent time management skills.

OSU will conduct a review of the National Sex Offender Public website prior to hire.

OSU is a fair chance employer committed to inclusive hiring. We encourage applications from candidates who bring a wide range of lived experience including involvement with the justice system. If this position has “critical or security-sensitive” responsibilities and/or driving duties and you are selected as a finalist, your initial job offer will be contingent upon the results of a job-related pre-employment check (such as a background check, motor vehicle history check, sexual misconduct reference check, etc.). Background check results do not automatically disqualify a candidate. Take a look at our Background Checks website including the for candidates section for more details. If you have questions or concerns about the pre-employment check, please contact OSU’s Employee and Labor Relations team at employee.relations@oregonstate.edu.
