Job Description:
This recruitment will be used to fill three part-time (a maximum of 20-24 hours per week) Community and Program Assistant positions for the Cultural Resource Center kaku-ixt mana ina haws within Diversity & Cultural Engagement at Oregon State University (OSU).

Diversity & Cultural Engagement (DCE) is a student-centered department dedicated to fostering identity-affirming community, belonging, and leadership development. Through Cultural Resource Centers, educational programming, and collaborative partnerships, DCE supports students from historically underrepresented communities while advancing equity, learning, and connection across campus.
āPosition SummaryĀ
The Cultural Resource Center (CRC) Community and Program AssistantĀ supportsĀ the daily operations, community engagement, and educational programming of Diversity & Cultural Engagement. Student Leaders work in partnership with professional staff and peers toĀ maintainĀ welcoming spaces,Ā assistĀ with programs and outreach, and contribute to student learning and community-building initiatives aligned with DCEās mission. While professional staffĀ retainĀ responsibility for overall decision-making and accountability, CRC Student Leaders play an active role in implementation, feedback, and student-centered leadership development.Ā
Position Duties:
Administrative & Center Operation SupportĀ
Staff Cultural Resource Center during scheduled shifts, providing consistent front-desk coverageĀ
Respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries with professionalism, confidentiality, andĀ appropriate judgmentĀ
Manage office operations including printer support, mail pickup,Ā submitĀ supply requests and inventory tracking, as well as stock andĀ monitorĀ kitchen, office, and event suppliesĀ
Maintain organized digital files and shared drivesĀ
AssistĀ with center reservations, room scheduling, and calendar coordinationĀ
Report facility, technical, or IT issues toĀ appropriate campusĀ partnersĀ
Use and continuouslyĀ learn updates forĀ department software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Canva, Concur,Ā MazĆ©vo)Ā
Attend and activelyĀ participateĀ in required trainings and weekly student staff meetingsĀ
Follow university and departmental policies, procedures, and workflowsĀ
Facilitate or co-facilitate meetingsĀ and presentationsĀ as assignedĀ
Maintain clean, safe, and organized center spaces, including kitchens and gathering areasĀ
Conduct routine walkthroughs during shifts to tidy spaces and greet guestsĀ
Post weekly eventsā flyers, newsletters, and OSU updates in center spacesĀ
Set up and break down rooms for meetings and events, including tables, chairs, and equipmentĀ
Operate basic audio-visual and event equipmentĀ
Complete routine upkeep tasks (e.g., watering plants, resetting spaces)Ā

Community Engagement & Student SupportĀ
Welcome visitors and foster a respectful, inclusive, and affirming environmentĀ
Provide orientations and tours for students and campus partnersĀ

Participate in outreach efforts such as tabling, presentations, and campus-wide eventsĀ

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
