JOB DIMENSIONS:

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, solders parts and valves with torch flux and solders in accordance with quality
standards and government needs; and performs other related duties, as assigned.
Â
Reports to:
Assembly Manager
Â
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses acetylene torch with various fluxes and silver solder to heat valve bodies and/or parts to solder;
- Maintains and follows government and company quality standards;
- Checks job orders and parts numbers prior to initiating work;
- Checks blueprints;
- Assembles parts required;
- Cuts trim and bends tubing according to dimensions;
- Sets up and operates soldering equipment;
- Checks completed work for adherence to quality standards and work specifications;
- Cools parts and delivers to cleaning department;
- Monitors parts supplies;
- Maintains work areas in clean and orderly condition;
- Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and
- Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:

Experience/Training/Education:
Some experience or vocational training in soldering methods and techniques. Basic welding experience a
plus.
Â
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints;
- Ability to operate soldering equipment;
- Knowledge of basic math;
- Some knowledge of machine setup and operating procedures;
- Some knowledge of soldering methods and techniques;
- Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others;
- Ability to read and interpret work orders; and
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Physical Requirements:Â
- Ability to lift and move parts and valves weighing 25 pounds or less;
- Ability to move heavier objects using mechanized devices or with the assistance of co-workers;
- Ability to wear safety mask and safety glasses; and
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined;

Special Requirements:Â
Appropriate government certification for soldering work.Â
