Job Summary
Under general direction by a Marketing Manager, implements marketing projects for assigned business lines from initiation to production and through to recommendations for next steps and takes a lead role in coordinating the activities of vendors, agencies, internal staff and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget and on strategy. Marketing channels may include print, web, radio, outdoor, merchandising and promotions.Ensures tracking mechanisms are in place for assigned projects and performs basic results analysis, proactively offering solutions and recommendations for next steps to management. Identifies the impact of marketing projects on the various channels (brick-and-mortar, web, call center) and communicates with the appropriate business units. The Senior Marketing Specialist has some experience with developing marketing plans, including identifying a segmentation strategy, and managing a marketing budget in addition to proactively initiating projects as appropriate to support the business strategy. Takes the initiative to reach out to the appropriate stakeholders (internal and external) and coordinate communication to achieve objectives. Monitors the industry and competition and maintains knowledge of best practices and legal requirements for assigned product lines.

Job Duties
  • Develops project timelines, and oversees day-to-day issues on each project - coordinating and providing direction to agencies and vendors
  • Responsible for ensuring tracking mechanisms are in place, reporting performance of marketing campaigns to management, and performing results analysis.
  • Reviews, traffics and maintains job estimates for each project.
  • Works with the Marketing Manager and the Associate Marketing Managers on strategy for marketing plans - and project development.
  • Responsible for day-to-day budget management for assigned projects.
  • Oversees day-to-day maintenance issues on website content for assigned product areas. Conducts competitive analysis.
  • Works with Legal on all project approvals.
  • Prepares and distributes completed marketing materials and files and maintains accurate job folders.
  • Develops and manages basic marketing plans and budgets.
  • Responsible for tradeshow/event coordination.
  • The Senior Marketing Specialist work under general direction with minimal supervision but must seek guidance and approvals, communicating as appropriate with peers and leadership to complete production of marketing projects. Procedures for completion of marketing projects have been proscribed and should be followed at all times. Key decisions should be deferred to the Marketing Manager or Associate Marketing Manager. This position should proactively offer solutions and assist with developing basic marketing plans, working with the appropriate Product Management staff, including suggestions for next steps based on analytical thinking.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Marketing
  • 4-6 years Marketing Required
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills, maintaining a professional demeanor and communicating effectively with management.
  • Requires a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Internet applications as well as experience with a graphics application.
  • Must have the ability to manage a heavy workload with competing priorities under general direction.

Scope
  • Work is accomplished with moderate supervision. Follows established and detailed directions. Work is reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy.
  • Provides resolution to an assortment of problems that are typically well defined, but some clarification or judgment is required to determine action, as additional information about the problem/task is discovered. Uses judgment within defined practices/procedures to determine appropriate action. Problem/Task resolution timeframe: Inclusive of shorter timeframes, but the majority of tasks take up to several weeks to resolve.
  • Under general supervision, proceeds alone for regular duties, referring questionable cases to supervisor.

  • Failure to achieve results or erroneous judgments may require the allocation of additional resources to correct and/or achieve goals.
  • Contacts are primarily within the department or function with occasional cross-functional interfaces. Some limited external customer contact on routine matters.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$67,600.00 - $90,000.00
