About the Role:
Private practice orthodontic office in Costa Mesa, CA is looking for a talented and motivated Orthodontic RDA or DA to join our growing team! Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist chairside during patient exams, adjustments, and orthodontic procedures
- Place and remove orthodontic appliances, archwires, and ligatures under orthodontist supervision
- Take and process digital X-rays, photographs, and dental impressions or iTero scans
- Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment progress
- Sterilize and maintain instruments, equipment, and treatment areas per infection control protocols
- Accurately document patient records and treatment notes in practice management software
- Provide a warm, welcoming experience that keeps patients and families comfortable throughout treatment
Requirements:
- Current California RDA license or DA certification preferred
- Prior orthodontic or dental assisting experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with orthodontic appliances including braces, clear aligners, and retainers
- Radiography (X-ray) certification required or ability to obtain
- Proficiency with dental practice management software and digital imaging systems
- Strong communication skills with patients of all ages, including children and teens
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting
