CMDB Configuration Analyst

As a CMDB Configuration Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete configuration item (CI) data within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The role ensures CI attribute integrity, relationship accuracy, and alignment to ITIL-based configuration management practices. This position partners across infrastructure, application, and service teams to support operational stability, impact analysis, and ITSM processes.

What You’ll Do

  • You’ll maintain and update CI records across their lifecycle, ensuring accuracy of attributes, classifications, and statuses.
  • You’ll define, validate, and maintain CI relationships to support impact analysis, problem investigation, and change assessment.
  • You’ll ensure adherence to ITIL-based CMDB and configuration management policies.
  • You’ll conduct routine audits and reconciliation of configuration data to identify discrepancies or missing attributes.
  • You’ll validate integrity of data from discovery tools and other authoritative sources.
  • Youl’’ support governance standards, naming conventions, and data quality rules.
  • You’ll identify process gaps, support enhancement opportunities, and help drive adoption across teams.
  • You’ll generate CMDB dashboards and analytics to measure accuracy, completeness, and performance indicators.
  • You’ll present findings and recommendations to IT leadership and service owners.
  • You’ll work directly with infrastructure, security, DevOps, and service owners to validate CI data and support lifecycle management.
  • You’ll participate in ITSM processes (incident, problem, change) to support CI usage and impact assessment.

What You’ll Need

  • To thrive in this role, you have 2–4 years of experience in configuration or IT asset management.
  • You have a strong understanding of ITIL configuration management practices.
  • You have hands-on experience with CMDB tools such as BMC Helix and BMC Discovery.
  • You have excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • You have a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • You have analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • You have experience in cross‑functional collaboration, process discipline and governance mindset.
  • Certifications in ITIL Foundation, CHAMP and/or CSAM preferred not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

The starting pay range for this position is:

$109,500.00 - $146,200.00

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
