Lead the Safe Delivery of the Energy Infrastructure Our Communities Depend OnAt ATC, the reliability of the electric grid starts long before a transmission line is energized. We're looking for an experienced Manager Construction Management to lead a team responsible for the successful execution of transmission line and substation construction projects across our service territory. This is an opportunity to influence some of the region's most important energy infrastructure investments while helping develop the next generation of construction leaders.
Essential Responsibilities:
What You'll Do
As a key member of ATC's Construction and Commissioning leadership team, you will:
Lead Construction Execution
- Oversee construction management staff supporting overhead transmission line, underground transmission line, and substation projects.
- Ensure contractors meet technical specifications, contract requirements, safety expectations, and quality standards.
- Coordinate field execution activities across multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Drive successful project delivery while balancing safety, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
Develop People & Teams
- Coach, mentor, and develop a team of construction professionals.
- Provide performance feedback, growth opportunities, and leadership support.
- Create clear expectations and accountability across internal and external resources.
- Build an engaged, high-performing, and safety-focused team culture.
Strengthen Contractor Performance
- Lead oversight of contractors, consultants, outside firms, and alliance partners.
- Establish clear expectations and performance measures.
- Promote safe work practices and operational excellence.
- Ensure contractual obligations and project deliverables are achieved.
Partner Across the Enterprise
- Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Safety, Environmental, Commissioning, and Local Distribution Company leadership.
- Help develop practical construction solutions that consider environmental, operational, customer, and landowner impacts.
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement across project portfolios.
Champion Safety
- Serve as a visible safety leader.
- Reinforce a culture where every employee and contractor goes home safely.
- Identify and address risks proactively.
- Lead confidently during emergency and incident response situations.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Combinations of education and equivalent experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in construction management, construction oversight, utility infrastructure delivery, project management, or transmission or substation engineering.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience leading internal teams and external resources.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions while balancing safety, schedule, budget, and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
• Electric transmission construction management experience.
• Substation or line construction experience.
• Contractor and alliance partner management experience.
• Utility industry experience.
• Professional Engineer registration.
• Experience supporting emergency response or restoration activities.

The targeted base pay for this position is $184,200 to $214,900 annually.*Â Base pay is one component of our comprehensive total rewards package which includes an annual incentive bonus, employer-sponsored pension plan, 401(k) match, HSA contribution, life & disability insurance, health care benefits, generous time off plans, flexible work arrangements, and much more.Â
