Job DetailsJob Location: Nespelem - Nespelem, WA 99155Salary Range: $35.13 - $40.73 HourlyClosing Date: 8/16/2026 Position: Mental Health Therapist Salary: $35.13-40.73, Per Hour, DOE Reports to: Clinical Director Location: Nespelem, WA     QualificationsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides services in a manner consistent with the Behavioral Health Program’s mission and philosophy; clinical and ethical best practices and standards; private and public managed care reimbursement system requirements; Local, State, Indian Health Services, and Federal regulations; Tribal Governance regulations; and carious independent contract requirements that may be applicable. Provide services may include: Mental Health Assessments; intake appointments; diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders, including chemical dependency; individual, family, and group counseling; treatment planning; case management; crisis triage; and follow-up counseling. Provides referrals to other services and programs in the community, as needed.  Actively advocates on behalf of the client.  Maintains client caseload following established treatment guidelines, evidence-based practices, and agency policies and procedures. Provides therapeutic intervention in a variety of treatment modalities individually matched to the needs of each client. Maintains STRICT confidentiality standards due to the high volume of records, materials, and communications concerning patients and program operations. Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Master’s degree in Mental Health counseling, Psychology, Behavioral Therapy, Counseling Psychology, Professional Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy or closely related degree from a regionally accredited college or university and by an accrediting body which meet any U.S State or jurisdiction licensing requirements for a professional mental health counselor or therapist. Unrestricted licensure at the independent level as a clinical mental health therapist in any U.S.   State or jurisdiction. Acceptable independent licensures include Licensed Independent or Licensed Clinical, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, etc. First Aide and CPR certification or ability to obtain with 90-days of employment. Completion of the HIV/Aids and blood borne pathogens training within six-months of employment. Verification of TB test or X-ray with negative results, prior to employment. Valid Washington State Driver’s License is required and be insurable. Knowledge of local Tribal Culture, Traditions and practices. Knowledge of diversity in rural America and specifically on Indian reservations. Knowledge of analyzing and applying effective conflict resolution. Knowledge of and commitment to adhere to the professional code of ethics for respective profession. Knowledge demonstrating experience developing, maintaining positive, fair and professional relationships with co-workers/peers, subordinates, supervisors, collaborative partners, and government agencies. Knowledge of Tribal, State and Federal standards and licensure requirements. Skill in the use of computers and associated software (Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office as it relates to the duties of the position. Requires prior work experience in confidential health services and a commitment to confidentiality of all records, materials and communications concerning patients, other program staff and professionals or other areas that may impact the operation of the program.  Knowledge of the essential principles and evidence-based practice of clinical mental health therapy. Ability to analyze and apply effective conflict resolution. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work with a team that will provide interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to function indoors and outside environments, engaged in work of a predominately sedentary nature. Requires sufficient physical ability to move to work locations. Require the ability to grasp, reach, push and pull and move light weight work materials and supplies. Requires sufficient arm, hand, finger dexterity to use a personal computer keyboard, multimedia and other office equipment. Requires sufficient visual acuity to read printed materials and computer screens, observe clients and moving objects and events. Ability to work flexible and on-call house, evenings, weekends and holidays as work dictates. Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions. This position is identified as a safety sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment, post-accident, random and reasonable suspicion drug testing.  Must submit to and successfully clear and extensive criminal background inquiry.      TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.   If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
