Summary: The Controller will direct the financial activities of Nyco Products Company and serve as a key driver of Nyco's integration into its parent organization, Diamond Chemical. This is a hands-on, self-starter role responsible for maintaining timely and accurate financials, delivering holistic reporting to Diamond Chemical, leading the annual budget, and forecasting process, designing operational reporting and KPIs, strengthening internal controls, and serving as a key contributor to the implementation of a modern ERP system targeted for 2027. This position reports to the General Manager of Nyco Products Company with a dotted line to the CFO of Diamond Chemical Company, LLC. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned: Analyze inventory costs and standards and audit inventory valuation. Implement financial policies and procedures to ensure accurate reporting of operational transactions into the company accounting system. Coordinates the monthly financial close and prepares monthly financial reports — including income statement, balance sheet, and operational KPI reporting — through general ledger review and month-end journal entries; designs and continuously improves operational reporting and KPI dashboards that give Nyco and Diamond Chemical leadership clear visibility into business performance. Prepares reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Leads Nyco's annual budget and periodic forecasting process end-to-end, partnering with department heads and Diamond Chemical FP&A to develop assumptions, prepare supporting documentation, and present results to leadership. Provides management with timely reports and reviews of organization's financial status. Establishes, documents, and continuously strengthens internal controls across the finance function — including cash controls, segregation of duties, credit card and petty cash security, and approval workflows — to support a portfolio-company control environment. Financial responsibilities include monitoring cash flow, reviewing check runs for payment of vendors, preparing company sales tax returns, journal entries, generation of commission statements and rebate reports, 401(k) review, reconcile bank statements, and account transfers. Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets. Advises management on company write offs for bad debt or slow moving inventory. Coordinates activities related to “Review or Audit” of company's financials by outside agents. Prepares and submits reports required by regulatory agencies. Serves as a key contributor to the selection, design, and implementation of a modern ERP system targeted for 2027, including chart-of-accounts mapping to Diamond Chemical, process redesign, data migration, and user training. Drives the integration of Nyco's finance and accounting processes into Diamond Chemical — aligning policies, reporting cadences, charts of accounts, and systems with the parent organization. Supervise and lead the accounting team, including coaching and developing staff through the integration and ERP transition. Competencies:  The successful candidate for this position will exhibit the competencies and qualifications listed: Strong knowledge of cost accounting, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and judgement skills. High ethical and quality standards are a must in this position. Leadership and people management abilities, including being able to delegate responsibilities and develop team members to build team morale. Self-starter mindset with the ability to operate independently, drive projects through ambiguity, and thrive in a private-equity-backed portfolio company undergoing integration and transformation. Strong written and oral communication skills are a key element of this position. Hands-on experience leading or playing a key role in an ERP conversion or modern ERP implementation is strongly preferred. Education and Experience: Four-year degree in Accounting required, 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with at least 2 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role; manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred. Prior experience in a private-equity-backed or multi-entity environment, and exposure to acquisition integration, is a significant plus. Please note that this is an in-office position.
