Coushatta Forest Products is looking for several Millwrights to join our new Leadership team and team in Coushatta, Louisiana. The Millwright will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment across the sawmill facility. This position ensures that all machinery operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. The Millwright will work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform precise alignments, and install new equipment according to technical specifications. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to prevent accidents and maintain compliance with industry standards. Ultimately, Millwright contributes to the seamless operation of sawmill and production processes by applying expert mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1- 3 years of experience as a millwright, preferably in a sawmill, manufacturing, or similar setting
- Proven experience in industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in welding or fabrication
- Experience with CNC machinery and automated systems
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- OSHA safety certification or equivalent safety training
Responsibilities:
- Install, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
- Perform precise alignment and calibration of machinery using specialized tools and instruments
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, set-up and repair of equipment and machinery
- Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, lubricate, and perform routine preventative maintenance on all machinery
- Diagnose mechanical problems and implement effective solutions to minimize equipment downtime
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals to guide installation and repair work
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently to complete assigned tasks
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during all phases of work
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to maintain accurate records
Skills:
The Millwright will utilize strong mechanical skills daily to install, maintain, and repair complex machinery, ensuring operational efficiency. Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documents allows for accurate interpretation of equipment specifications and installation requirements. Troubleshooting skills are essential for diagnosing mechanical failures and implementing timely repairs to reduce downtime. The ability to operate various hand and power tools safely is critical for performing precise alignments and adjustments.

Work Environment Manufacturing Plant Physical Demands:
- Outside Sawmill/Plant Location. Noise levels are moderate to high/low depending on the area of the mill and production
