Consulting Utility Forester

  • Inspects overhead power lines for proper vegetation clearance and compliance with the law,
  • Performs post inspections and work verification on pre-inspection and vegetation management work,
  • Documents information for client’s vegetation management program,
  • Inspects and assess trees for hazard potential,
  • Assists in storm and emergency situations and other miscellaneous vegetation management projects,
  • Communicates daily with the client, contractors, landowners, agencies and the public,
  • Performs duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations,
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned,

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Ability to lift forty (40) pounds, bend, stoop, and work safely around equipment, materials, supplies, and other items to be handled,
  • Exposure to weather and hazardous conditions,
  • Walk on various terrain (Up/Down Hills/Slopes).

Certifications:

  • ISA Certified Arborist Designation Preferred
  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (is a plus),

Position Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Position requires successful completion of preemployment background check and drug screen.

Other Experience:

  • Experience in Forestry, Arboriculture or Horticulture a plus,
  • Must possess tree identification skills and the ability to read maps,
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, the ability to multi-task and an attention to detail,
  • Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain,
  • Must be good with technology and have basic computer and smart phone skills,
  • Customer Service (interacting with home owners/ property owners)
