Job Purpose: The Medical Billing Manager at Polaris Pharmacy Services is responsible for overseeing the entire billing process, ensuring efficient charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and appeals management. The role requires a deep understanding of healthcare billing, payer guidelines, and compliance standards to optimize revenue cycle operations and support the financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the billing process, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and appeals, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Analyze claim rejections and accounts receivable aging's to identify trends and implement corrective actions. Supervise, train, and mentor billing specialists to enhance team performance and professional development. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer guidelines, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and coding standards. Collaborate with other departments to streamline billing operations and improve overall efficiency. Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance billing operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepare regular reports on billing activities and performance metrics for management review. Required Education: A bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, or business is highly preferred Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management Proven track record of overseeing billing processes, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and appeals Experience in analyzing claim rejections and accounts receivable aging's Previous experience in supervising, training, and mentoring billing specialists Required Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and payer guidelines Strong understanding and adherence to HIPAA and coding standards Excellent analytical skills to evaluate billing processes and identify areas for improvement Exceptional leadership and team management skills Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record systems Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and external stakeholders Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that should be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk May be necessary to work extended hours as needed May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role HOLIDAY & PTO POLICY Paid holidays are provided annually, with 6 days offered each year, along with 5 sick days.
