If you're curious, analytical, and excited to learn, this role offers a unique opportunity to launch your career at Fidelity. As an Associate Analyst on Fidelity's Defined Benefit team, you'll help support retirement plans that serve millions of employees and retirees across the country. Defined Benefit plans, commonly known as pension plans, are employer-sponsored retirement programs that provide participants with a predictable source of retirement income.

No prior pension experience is required. In this role, you will:

  • Analyze and validate large datasets using tools such as Excel, SQL, and other reporting platforms.
  • Learn how pension plans operate and become a subject matter expert in Defined Benefit administration.
  • Support client projects, operational enhancements, and business process improvements.
  • Research and resolve complex data, plan, and operational issues.
  • Partner with internal teams to design and implement solutions that improve client and participant experiences.
  • Assist with corporate actions and change orders, which are requests to update how a client's pension plan is administered or maintained.
  • Participate in meetings and planning activities to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Evaluate business requests and identify potential impacts to operations, systems, and client deliverables.
  • Help identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams on initiatives that support Fidelity's Defined Benefit business.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Data Analytics, Data Science, Management Information Systems,  Business Analytics, and Business Administration majors are preferred.

  • Experience with SQL, Access, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or other analytical tools preferred.
  • Exposure to actuarial science concepts is a plus.
  • Internship, academic project, or coursework involving data analysis, reporting, or process improvement.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
