The Branch Manager at Pelican Credit Union is a dynamic, results-driven leader responsible for leading branch operations, developing a high-performing team, and creating exceptional experiences for our members. This role combines strong leadership, sales and business development skills, and a passion for delivering above-average results. The ideal candidate is goal-oriented and motivated by achieving – and exceeding – branch performance goals while ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and outstanding member service.

 

Beyond the branch, this leader serves as an ambassador in the community, building meaningful relationships and actively participating in community development and outreach initiatives. Through strong leadership, sound judgment, strategic sales efforts, and a genuine commitment to our members and the St. Tammany community, the Branch Manager inspires their team to perform at its best and drives the branch towards continued growth and success.

A Day in the Life of a Branch Manager INCLUDES:

  • Providing strong leadership and development to the team within their branch.
  • Leading and participating in community outreach initiatives to promote brand visibility and increase engagement.
  • Overseeing all aspects of membership, including fraud prevention and loss, deposit accounts, and loan and new account queue management to increase profitability and protect Credit Union assets.
  • Handling escalated or complex member concerns professionally, working to resolve issues and mitigate reputation risk.
  • Ensuring key products and services are delivered with high standards of service and sound business practices
  • Monitoring all branch activity including transaction volume, teller errors, loan production, sales performance, and new account openings and providing regular reporting and analysis.

 

Branch Manager Skills and qualifications include:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of financial institution experience to include a combination of teller and/or contact center with a minimum of one (1) year of lending or loan processing experience.
  • Must have three (3) years of supervisory experience within a financial institution.
  • Must be eligible to be licensed to sell all necessary insurance products.
  • 4-year college degree in Business Administration, Finance, or another business-related field.
    • Additional experience may be considered in lieu of meeting education requirements.
  • Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills.

  • Work Schedule
    • Monday – Friday
      • 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
    • Some weekend and after-hours availability are required to attend community outreach events.
  • Travel
    • Travel outside of St. Tammany Parish is rarely necessary for this position.

  • Work Site Location
    • The Branch Manager’s home office is located at our Covington Branch, 100 Cherokee Rose Lane Covington, LA 70433
    • While most work will be performed at the home office, it will be necessary for the Branch Manager to travel to off-site locations for business and community development and outreach.
