Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician — Build Your Career at Our Covington Shop

The Opportunity: Looking for a shop where good work gets noticed and skilled techs have a real path forward? The Service Company has been family-owned since 1978, and we've grown into one of the region's go-to names in heavy-duty truck repair — with locations across Ohio. We didn't get here by accident. We got here by investing in our people.

We're hiring an experienced Diesel Technician at our Covington location to join a crew that takes pride in the work and looks out for each other. If you've got a couple of years of wrench time and you're ready to grow — we want to talk.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Independent Wrenching: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair advanced air systems (compressors, dryers, valves), HVAC systems, and steering components.
  • Bolt-On Components: Manifolds, turbos, water pumps, fan drives, and air compressors.
  • Inspections & Alignments: Federal DOT inspections and accurate alignments using our shop equipment.
  • Electrical Troubleshooting: Tracking down starting and charging issues — alternators, batteries, starters.
  • Primary Systems: Brakes, wheel-end assemblies, drivelines, suspensions, and tire service.

Where This Role Can Take You:

We're not looking to plug a seat. We're looking for someone who wants to build something here. That means:

  • Skill Development: Ongoing training on the systems and equipment you work with every day — and the new ones coming down the pike.
  • Advancement Paths: Lead technician, shop foreman, specialty diagnostic roles, training roles — we promote from within whenever we can.
  • Cross-Location Exposure: With multiple shops across the region, there's room to grow geographically too, if that's what you want.
  • A Voice That Matters: Our best ideas come from the bay floor. We listen.

What You Bring:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on work on heavy-duty trucks.
  • Credentials: Valid driver's license and a High School diploma (or equivalent). CDL is a plus.
  • The Right Mindset: Proactive problem-solver, takes pride in the work, communicates clearly, manages time well.
  • Physical Capability: Standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs in a busy shop environment.

Why Work With Us:

  • First Shift
  • Paid Vacation and Holiday Pay
  • IRA retirement plan with company match
  • A family-owned company that's been in business since 1978 — stable, growing, and reinvesting in our people
  • A team environment where quality work actually matters, and where the path forward is real
