As a Patient Access Associate, you’re often the first point of contact during some of a patient’s most stressful and urgent situations. Whether it’s an unexpected emergency or a critical moment, you bring calm, clarity, and compassion from the very start. 

Your ability to stay focused, organized, and empathetic helps patients and families feel supported—even in high-pressure situations. 

What You’ll Do (aka Keep Things Moving in Critical Moments) 

  • Greet and assist patients and families with urgency and empathy  

  • Register patients quickly and accurately during emergency visits  

  • Verify insurance, demographics, and required documentation  

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately in high-stress situations  

  • Support admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed  

  • Partner with clinical teams to maintain patient flow and efficiency
