Job Description:

Scope of Position:Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, and prepare for processing by the laboratory.  Greet and receive all patients in a professional, warm, and efficient manner.  Utilizing the laboratory software; register patients into the system for proper specimen processing.  Make sure to maximize in-house lab processing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • 1.  Perform venipuncture on patients in both a timely and professional manner.
  • 2.  Verify lab orders are available and patients are registered.        
  • 3.  Process specimens for internal and external processing.         
  • 4.  Management of Lab area

QUALIFICATIONS:                   

  • 2 years’ experience in a lab; oncology experience preferred       
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
