Description

Reports To: Special Education Director


Term: 12 months


Description: Charter school for children with Dyslexia seeks highly dedicated and compassionate Special Education Case Manager to join our team. Louisiana Key Academy offers a unique opportunity to gain additional expertise while earning competitive wages.  



Performance Responsibilities may include:


Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, and facilitate individualized education plans (IEPs)

- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and service providers to coordinate educational and support services

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, services provided, and compliance with legal requirements

- Serve as a liaison between families and school staff to facilitate effective communication and advocacy

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local special education laws and regulations

- Provide support to staff and families regarding special education processes and accommodations

- Completing report prep for student evaluations

- Conducting clerical work related for admissions/enrollment processes

- Entering SPED data into the state system quarterly based on the report of the student’s service providers

- Preparing and routing documents for electronic signatures

- Fulfilling records requests

- Conducting email and phone correspondence with parents and other stakeholders

- Managing and maintaining the filing system for students' SPED and enrollment documents

- Conducting quarterly audits of student files 

- Ensuring that student documents are scanned and uploaded to eSER and PowerSchool

- Other clerical duties as assigned


Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:


- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field

- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and families

- Problem-solving skills and a compassionate approach to student advocacy

- Proficiency in documentation and data management systems related to special education
