Position Overview
The Technical Accountant is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely execution of key technical accounting functions across ProMach’s multi-division manufacturing environment. Primary areas of focus include the application of ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers), lease administration and accounting under ASC 842 (Leases), and supporting the interim and year-end audit activities.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting, this role offers exposure to complex technical accounting matters, cross-functional partnership with finance leaders, and opportunities to contribute to process improvement in a growing, global manufacturing organization. This position is well‑suited for an experienced accounting professional who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to manage multiple workstreams across a complex, multi‑entity organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform revenue recognition procedures in accordance with ASC 606, including the analysis of customer contracts to identify technical accounting considerations such as performance obligations and evaluation of appropriate recognition.
- Administer the Company’s lease portfolio on a monthly basis, including the maintenance of lease schedules, calculation of right‑of‑use assets and lease liabilities, and preparation of journal entries in conformance with ASC 842.
- Assist with the execution of interim and year‑end audits, including the preparation of supporting documentation, coordination with internal stakeholders, and direct interaction with external auditors.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to revenue recognition, lease accounting, and other technical accounting areas to support the financial close process.
- Identify opportunities to enhance technical accounting processes, documentation, and procedures.
- Partner across all levels of the Finance organization to research complex accounting matters and drive improvements in processes, controls, documentation, and automation.
- Support international statutory reporting and audits, special research projects, and accounting training across the organization.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation strongly preferred; candidates not yet certified must be actively pursuing CPA licensure.
- 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606, ASC 842, and general contract accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, lookups) and strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Prior public accounting, external audit, or multi‑division manufacturing organization experience preferred.
