Job Summary
The Space Planner position is accountable for the successful planning and execution of assigned category resets by designing best-in-class planograms and ensuring the timely completion of major milestones within reset project plans. As the primary Space Planning point-of-contact for assigned departments, the role requires effective communication and cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders from Merchandising, Enterprise Analytics, Procurement, and third party partners.Job Description
- Experience Required: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Space Planning, Merchandising, Retail Operations, or a related discipline
- Experience Desired: Expertise as a user of space planning software (e.g., Blue Yonder), familiarity with basic data analysis and reporting, experience coordinating projects
- Education Desired: Bachelor's degree
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all category reset activities within assigned department(s), ensuring successful completion of category reset projects
- Design gold standard planograms by partnering with Merchandising, Enterprise Analytics, and vendor partners to develop shelf presentation strategies that optimize space allocation and customer shopping experience
- Serve as the organizational Space Planning subject-matter-expert within assigned department(s) by developing foundational knowledge across all departments that interact with space planning: Merchandising, Retail Operations, Enterprise Analytics, Procurement, Technology Systems, etc.
- Lead test sets to ensure gold standard planograms meet quality expectations and reset projects can be completed within budgeted labor hours
- Collaborate with Sr. Manager and peers to continually improve existing processes by increasing efficiency, integrating analytics to improve decision making, and minimizing errors
- Ensure planogram issues are resolved quickly and accurately, while diagnosing root causes to prevent similar errors from occurring again
- Accountable for planogram data integrity and ongoing maintenance
- Support the development of the annual reset planning schedule by providing consistent updates on project importance, scope, and complexity
- Attend store visits to deepen market, category, and product knowledge
- Assist in the testing and application of supporting technology, systems, and tools
