About the Role 

As a Quality Control Associate, you are responsible for ensuring food safety and quality standards are met by routine monitoring of receiving/distribution, production, and food storage activities. The QC Associate will help ensure adherence to established food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Critical Control Points (CCPs) throughout the food process flow. 

Role Details 

  • Pay Rate: $17.50 
  • Overnight shifts include an additional $2.00/hour premium, automatically applied to any hours worked between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM 
  • Job Location: CK1 
  • Position type: Full-Time 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Conduct daily Good Manufacturing Practice audits, pre-operational inspections, and cleanliness checks across production and storage areas 
  • Monitor and document Critical Control Points (CCPs) records/logs, refrigeration/freezer temperatures, and the cooling process of cooked foods 
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)/Food Safety Plans 
  • Verify calibration of thermometers and scales, and ensure accurate chemical concentrations in sanitation solutions 
  • Perform quality checks throughout production, including production batch testing and finished product inspections (Label Verification, Leak Detection Test) 
  • Identify and place Non-Conforming Items on Hold, record on Hold Log  
  • Responsible for ensuring other daily, weekly, and monthly records are completed by the sanitation team as required 
  • Conduct Cleaning Verification tests including adenosine triphosphate (ATP) swabbing and weekly food safety inspections in coordination with the Sanitation team 
  • Ensuring areas are properly stocked with necessary inventory 
  • Monitor the receiving and delivery process for product received (fresh, frozen, and dry products) and confirm these products are received at required temperature; confirm/verify requirements as listed in HACCP Plan/Food Safety Plan) 
  • Distribution Center - Assist in facilitating the daily operations and activities in the outbound warehouse areas prior to dispatch, while ensuring food safety measures are met during the process 
  • Supporting training initiatives 
  • Complete other duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications 

  • 6+ months experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role in a food service environment  
  • Previous experience in a USDA/FDA Regulated Facility or a GFSI certified facility preferred
  • 6+ months experience using technology such as smart phones and tablets, inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information 
  • ServSafe food handling certified or equivalent desired 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments. 
  • Great attention to detail and send of urgency 

 

Requirements 

  • 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US 
  • Able to lift, pull, and push 50 pounds of weight by oneself 
  • Able to stand a full shift while working 
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety policies and operational manuals in English; ability to communicate effectively with team members and follow verbal instructions to ensure a safe and productive work environment
  • Able to work evenings and weekends 
  • Comfortable working in various temperatures including cold environments (34-40 degrees Fahrenheit) and occasional freezer temperatures that can range anywhere from 0-10 degrees Fahrenheit
