SUMMARY: The Norman Prince Neuroscience Institute’s Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Program offers a fully benefitted 12-month position designed to provide post-graduate training to new Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who wish to transition into specialty care within the neurosciences. The goal is to provide support and training during transition to practice, allowing APP Fellows to build confidence and knowledge in the clinical specialties of Neurology and Neurosurgery. The Fellowship teaches the core competencies for specialty certification and offers the opportunity for APPs to gain in-depth exposure to complex specialty care and systems. Preference given to candidates willing to be hired into open positions once completing the fellowship. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES: CurriculumThe curriculum integrates didactic training within clinical rotations that feature a mix of practice-based patient care, case-based learning, one-on-one mentoring and supervision. Content is aligned with education and practice guidelines supported by the American Academy of Neurology for the education of post-graduate residents and fellows. The curriculum includes the following areas of study.Areas of rotation include the following:Inpatient Stroke ServiceInpatient General NeurologyNeurosurgeryNeuro Critical Care UnitNeurointerventional RadiologyOutpatient Neurology &NeurosurgeryPediatric NeurologySupervisionDuring rotations, participants will practice autonomously with close supervision and mentorship of attending physicians, residents, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.You will meet individually with the fellowship program coordinator throughout the program with formalized feedback at three, six and nine months into the program.Job Specific white-space:pre Rotating schedule to mostly mirror that of the preceptor.
