Position Highlights

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the organization, management and the direction of ambulance services. Holds twenty-four hour accountability for the ambulance department. Responsible for the management and development of all EMS personnel, assures fiscal responsibility, and compliance with regulatory and professional standards.

* This position is Full Time, 80 hours every 2 weeks, with on call involvement *

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Healthcare Administration, Emergency Management, Public Administration or related fields.

Completion of state-approved paramedic program and holds a Paramedic license to practice in Iowa.

Five plus years in healthcare, emergency operations, patient safety environments or EMS administration. Preferably as a supervisor, manager, or director.

Experience with healthcare regulatory framework (CMS, EMTALA, State EMS, Medicare/Medicaid compliance)

Current BLS, ALS, PALS, NRP certifications.

Must have a thorough knowledge of medical and hospital terms.

Excellent written and oral communication skills including computer capabilities.
