While routine cleaning and sanitation are important parts of the position, the role extends beyond traditional janitorial duties. Facilities Associates support the overall upkeep, appearance, safety, and functionality of the store and surrounding property. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in maintaining the facility, notices what needs attention, and is willing to help wherever needed. Key Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store, including restrooms, sales floors, employee areas, entrances, and other common spaces. Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, dust, wash, and perform other routine cleaning as needed. Empty trash and recycling and maintain waste collection areas. Clean spills and respond promptly to situations that could create safety or sanitation concerns. Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and other exterior spaces. Assist with snow and ice removal, seasonal cleanup, and other exterior maintenance as needed. Monitor the facility for maintenance concerns, damage, leaks, safety hazards, or equipment issues and report or address them appropriately. Perform basic facility upkeep and minor maintenance tasks within the scope of the position. Assist with changing light bulbs, replacing supplies, moving equipment or fixtures, and other general facility needs. Maintain cleaning, maintenance, and facility supplies and communicate when additional materials are needed. Help keep storage, utility, receiving, and back-of-house areas clean and organized. Assist store departments with facility-related needs, special projects, setup, cleanup, and other operational tasks. Follow proper procedures for chemicals, cleaning equipment, personal protective equipment, and workplace safety. Help ensure the facility consistently reflects the company's standards for cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance. Perform other facilities, maintenance, and store-support duties as assigned. Qualifications  Qualifications Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify tasks that need attention without always being directed. Willingness to perform a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and physical tasks. Ability to prioritize work and respond appropriately to immediate facility or safety needs. Comfortable working around customers and employees while maintaining a professional and helpful attitude. Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, tools, and equipment preferred. Previous experience in facilities, custodial, maintenance, janitorial, property upkeep, or a related position is helpful but not required Physical Requirements This position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Associates must be able to safely use cleaning and facility equipment and perform physical tasks associated with maintaining the store and property. Work may occasionally be performed outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
