Company Description

Crete Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, progressive, fast paced 2-doctor mixed animal practice located in Crete, Nebraska. We currently see 60% large animal and 40% small animal. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including Preventative Care, Surgery, Urgent Care, Dentistry, In-House Diagnostics, Digital radiology, Ultrasonography, Vacation Boarding, and after-hours Large Animal Emergency services. The large animal practice consists mainly of cow/calf and small stocker/feedlots, equine primary care and breeding, and some small ruminants, swine, and poultry. Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

The kennel tech is responsible for the care, feeding, medicating, and cleaning of our patients in the hospital, barns, and boarding facility outside of normal business hours. This job involves cleaning inside and outside the clinic, laundry, feeding/watering, walking dogs, and medicating patients. You will be responsible for proper recordkeeping of medications, special foods, appetite, behavior and any issue that may arise while the animal is in our care.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods.
  • Proper methods of animal restraint.
  • Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency. 
  • Perform moderate to heavy physical labor (move large dogs, bags of litter, pet foods, scrape cattle pens, muck out horse stalls, etc)
  • Ability to sympathetically and patiently attend to sick, scared and injured animals. 
  • Ability to learn to administer medications and to recognize abnormal conditions.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of the job. 
  • Moring, evening, weekend and holiday availability required
