Software Project Manager

KNOWiNK | St. Louis, MO | Full-time, Hybrid

Who We Are

KNOWiNK builds the technology that keeps elections running, our products are in the hands of poll workers and election officials across the country, and every line of code we ship matters in a very real, very immediate way. We're a tight-knit team that moves fast and cares deeply about getting things right.

The Role

We're looking for a Software Project Manager who can actually run point on complex technical work, not just update a status board. You'll be the connective tissue between engineering, QA, product, and leadership, keeping projects on track without losing sight of the people doing the work. This is a mid-to-senior role, so we're looking for someone who's already been in the trenches, knows how to read a room, and isn't afraid to push back when a timeline doesn't add up.

Election season doesn't wait for anybody, and neither do our deadlines. You'll thrive here if you're the kind of person who gets energized by making a huge difference nationally, is solution driven, and can organize a dozen moving pieces without breaking a sweat.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Owning software project timelines end to end, from kickoff through delivery, across multiple concurrent projects
  • Partnering closely with engineering leads and QA to build realistic roadmaps and actually keep them realistic
  • Running the rhythm: standups, sprint planning, retros, without turning them into meetings that could've been an email
  • Spotting risk before it becomes a fire drill, and communicating it clearly to leadership
  • Translating between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders so nothing gets lost
  • Managing scope conversations with a level head when priorities shift (and they will)
  • Building and maintaining project documentation that people actually use
  • Working directly with our CTO, COO, and department directors to align project work with company priorities, especially heading into intensive election cycles

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of software project management experience, ideally in a fast-paced product or engineering environment
  • Real fluency with agile/scrum methodology... not just the vocabulary, the actual practice
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Asana, or similar, and comfort setting up systems from scratch when the existing ones aren't cutting it
  • A track record of managing multiple technical projects simultaneously without dropping balls
  • Strong instincts for when to escalate and when to solve it yourself
  • Clear, direct communication style, you can talk to an engineer and a CFO in the same afternoon and make sense to both
  • A genuine interest in mission-driven work

A Few Things Worth Knowing Upfront

This is a hybrid role based in St. Louis, four days a week in the office and one out. We're also heading into a demanding stretch tied to the 2026 midterm election cycle, so timing and availability during that window matter. If you're looking for a slow-paced, set-it-and-forget-it PM role, this probably isn't it. If you want to be part of something that genuinely affects how democracy runs in this country, keep reading.

Why KNOWiNK

You'll work alongside people who care about the mission as much as they care about doing good work. We're not a massive company, so your impact is visible fast, and your voice actually counts in the room. We take the work seriously. We try not to take ourselves too seriously.

KNOWiNK is an equal opportunity employer.
