What You'll Do
As a Traffic Control Flagger, you'll play an essential role in keeping workers, motorists, and pedestrians safe around active work zones.
Responsibilities include:
- Directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely through construction zones
- Using stop/slow paddles, flags, hand signals, and other traffic control devices
- Setting up, monitoring, and removing traffic control equipment, including signs, cones, and barricades
- Communicating with crew members to maintain safe traffic flow
- Remaining alert to changing traffic patterns and job site conditions
- Following all state, local, and company safety regulations
What We're Looking For
We're looking for individuals who are:
- Reliable and dependable
- Safety-minded and attentive to detail
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to communicate clearly with coworkers and the public
- Able to remain standing and focused for extended periods
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid Washington State Traffic Control/Flagger Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Previous flagging, construction, road work, or traffic control experience is a plus, but not required
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Maintain focus in active construction and traffic environments
