Job Summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking an Associate level Manufacturing Engineer to support the manufacturing process (Resin Transfer Molding, Composite Fabric Layup) with technical responsibility for part fabrication in a fast moving environment. Performs a variety of engineering tasks in daily manufacturing support through planning, designing, and modifying tooling and processes. Resolves production problems and completes required updates to standard work instructions on assigned part(s).

    • Exemplifying a safety first mindset and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards
    • Deliver technical support of manufacturing processes
    • Employ Zero Defect Manufacturing tools to eliminate non-conformances and reworks.
    • Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean Initiatives
    • Support/lead root cause and corrective action investigations
    • Responsible for the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing process solutions to complex problems
    • Self-starter and pro-active problem solver
    • Ability to develop working relationships with other departments
    • Ability to explain concepts to a variety of audiences effectively

  • Bachelors in engineering or related fields (i.e. Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Aerospace, etc.)
  • Strong Communication skills
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • 0-3 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with 3D CAD software. Preferably NX or CATIA
  • Experience in creating working instructions
  • Physical
  • Must be able to work in a production environment and travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30lbs, using proper lifting techniques.
