 Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department  Position Status: .9 fte (72 hours per pay period) - rotational days and nights (12-hour shifts); Two (2) weekends out of every six (6) weeks. The Emergency Department (ED) RN is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The RN assesses, triages, and treats patients with a wide range of medical conditions, ensuring timely and effective care in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Essential Functions:
Â
- Patient Assessment and Triage - Perform rapid assessment and triage based on patient acuity.
- Provide direct patient care in the ER, including triage, stabilization, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Emergency Intervention - Respond to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and trauma.
- Documentation and Reporting - Accurately document patient care and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Demonstrate compliance with all regulatory standards, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols.
- Communication and Collaboration - Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members. Provide patient education on plan of care, discharge instructions, and medications.
- Patient Advocacy and Safety - Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately.
- Emotional and Crisis Support - Provide emotional support to patients and families during traumatic events. Maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress situations.
Qualifications
Minimum(s):
- Current State of Minnesota RN license is required.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC Certifications (if not current, RiverView will discuss assistance in obtaining on hire).

Preferred(s):
- 2+ years of experience in emergency nursing, ICU, or trauma

- Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds with professionalism and care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
