Schedule: Mon-Thurs 6:30am -3:00pm
Pay Range: $30.96 - $43.35 (based on experience)

RiverView Health is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team. This position provides a unique opportunity to support patients across the continuum of cardiopulmonary care through involvement in Phase II Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programming, Stress Lab, and Pulmonary Function Testing services.

In this position, you will help patients improve their cardiopulmonary health through supervised rehabilitation exercise, patient education, and individualized care planning. You will also perform high-quality pulmonary diagnostic testing, including spirometry and pulmonary function testing, while ensuring patient safety and adherence to best practices.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with cardiac stress testing and supporting tobacco cessation efforts, helping patients take important steps toward healthier lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations and ongoing assessments for Phase II Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, monitoring exercise tolerance, cardiac rhythms, and clinical response.
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans focused on improving cardiopulmonary health, functional capacity, and patient safety.
- Provide patient and family education on disease management, exercise, lifestyle modification, risk-factor reduction, and tobacco cessation.
- Perform Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) including spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity (DLCO), bronchodilator responsiveness, and related diagnostic procedures.
- Conduct and monitor methacholine challenge testing and other bronchoprovocation studies in accordance with established safety protocols.
- Ensure pulmonary diagnostic testing meets American Thoracic Society (ATS) quality standards, including calibration, quality control, and accurate data collection.
- Perform and assist with exercise (treadmill) and pharmacologic cardiac stress testing, including patient preparation and continuous monitoring.
- Recognize and respond to abnormal findings or adverse events, initiating appropriate interventions and following ACLS protocols when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, data reporting, and billing records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care and support optimal patient outcomes.
- Support program quality through equipment maintenance, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Minnesota license in Respiratory Therapy (RT), which must be in good standing is required.
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.Â
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) certifications in:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Candidates not currently certified may be eligible for employer-sponsored training and must obtain required certifications within three (3) months of hire
- Experience performing comprehensive Pulmonary Function Testing, including spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity (DLCO), bronchodilator responsiveness, and bronchoprovocation testing such as methacholine challenge.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team.

Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of overall healthcare experience.
- Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) certification or experience providing structured tobacco cessation counseling and interventions.
- Prior experience working in cardiac and/or pulmonary rehabilitation programs, preferably aligned with standards from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).
- Experience assisting with or performing exercise and pharmacologic cardiac stress testing, including ECG rhythm interpretation.
- Knowledge of exercise physiology and patient education related to cardiac rehabilitation.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to educate and motivate patients with chronic cardiac conditions.
