General Summary |
The APRN will be responsible for providing primary care services to patients ages birth to 21, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and managing chronic conditions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. |
Essential Job Functions |
- Evaluate patients and prescribe medication and treatments as professional license allows.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to license scope.
- Order lab and x-ray test as indicated.
- Analyze and interpret test results and contact patients as necessary regarding such results.
- Contact pharmacies to authorize prescribed medication for patients
- Educate parents how to care for and what to expect from well and sick children, providing accurate and up to date information.
- Consult with physicians when in doubt related to direct patient care matters, especially referrals to specialist

Qualifications/Education and Experience |
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program
- Current APRN license in the state of Florida
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an APRN in a primary care setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

Physical Requirements |
- Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to read emails, documents, reports, etc.
- Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with other staff, clients, vendors, etc.
- Standing/Walking: Must be able to move about the office, including up and down stairs
- Climbing/stooping/kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up small items, file documents, etc.
- Lifting/pulling/pushing: Minimal lifting required in this position
