Unit Description
Delaware North operates Mardi Gras Casino and Resort dating back to 2018. Located 14 miles west of Charleston, West Virginia, Mardi Gras features more than 25 table games, a poker room, more than 850 slot machines, live greyhound racing, and off-track betting for both greyhound and horse racing; several restaurants and a 150-room hotel.
Responsibilities
- Operate a motorized vehicle when necessary; provide cash escorts as needed.
- Greet guests positively and timely, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate skill in dealing with guest complaints, using active listening skills to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations to maintain the guest's goodwill.
- Observe, handle, and report procedural violations and illegal activity.
- Ensure that identification is checked for proper admittance to the gaming floorÂ
- Maintain crowd control as required; defuse guest profanity to ensure a friendly environment.
Qualifications
- Law enforcement or related experience, and a gaming background is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, pass a motor vehicle record check, and drug test.
- Must be able to be licensed by the State Gaming Commission.
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when handling guest complaints or issues.
- No high school diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate through two way radio.
- Bending, stooping, lifting and carrying occasionally.
- Vision must be sufficient that the officer is not restricted in the performance of duties day or night.
- Occasionally smoky and loud environment.
