Job Description:

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and supporting all transportation and distribution activities within the manufacturing supply chain. In this role, you will ensure efficient movement of raw materials and finished goods while driving cost reduction, service improvements, and data-driven decision making.

AS A LOGISTICS ANALYST, YOU WILL:

  • Analyze inbound and outbound freight performance, costs and service levels, working with Copeland center led logistics team to ensure that Vilter needs are included in carrier decision making.

  • Monitor carrier performance (OTIF, transit time, and claims).

  • Support freight contract negotiations through data analysis and benchmarking.

  • Ensure compliance with international and domestic shipping regulations.

  • Optimize freight modes, routing guides, and shipment consolidation.

  • Identify bottlenecks in warehouse throughput and material staging.

  • Collaborate with Materials, Production Planning, and Procurement teams to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.

  • Develop KPI’s and dashboards for: transportation cost per unit, freight spend, OTD/OTIF

  • Maintain accurate logistics master data in ERP/WMS systems.

  • Perform root cause analysis for service failures and cost variances.

  • Provide monthly performance reporting and improvement recommendations.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in freight, packaging, and handling. 

  • Support Lean initiatives and participate in improvement projects.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field, or 2-5 years of logistics or distribution experience.

  • Strong analytical skills with advanced excel efficiency.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite).

  • Understanding of freight rating, carrier contracts, and transportation regulations.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Data-driven decision making, cost optimization mindset, attention to detail, and process improvement

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

  • Knowledge of international shipping, customs, and trade compliance.

Onsite Work Arrangement:  

This role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.
