Founded by Amherst, the full-service real estate solutions platform, Amherst StudioBuiltā„¢ homes is an innovative approach to home development that utilizes offsite construction to create new housing supply at scale without sacrificing quality. StudioBuilt homes are constructed at Amherst’s housing studio in Cuero, Texas as well as partner studios across the Southeast and then installed on site. At full capacity, the Cuero facility will create over 250 manufacturing jobs, making Amherst the third largest employer in the area. The StudioBuilt team is comprised of experienced individuals from all trades, working to continuously improve the production process.

We are looking for professionals with experience in Framing /Drywall within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years’ experience on construction sites or working in a component or Modular manufacturing facility. If you possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership traits this is the opportunity for you to get in on the ground floor of a new venture in Modular housing in our CUERO TX factory.Ā 

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with Plant and Safety procedures, rules, and regulations.Ā 

  • Will Leadand help develop manufacturing associates and apprenticesĀ Ā Ā 

  • Fit cut and fasten wallboard or sheetrock into specified positionĀ 

  • Measure and mark cutting lines on framing, drywall, and trimĀ 

  • Install blanket installation in between studs. And exterior house wrapĀ 

  • Assemble and install steel stud framing and decorative trim for windows, doorways, and ventsĀ 

  • Read blueprints and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, materials, and tool requirements.Ā 

  • Lay out reference lines and points, computes position of framing, and marks positionusing chalk lineĀ 

  • Install horizontal and vertical metal or wooden studs for attachment of wallboard on interior walls, using hand toolsĀ 

  • Ā wood framing, and trim to size, using cutting toolsĀ 

  • Layout walls from gridlinesĀ 

  • Fabricate box headers and king stud assembliesĀ 

  • Attach framing using pneumaticnail guns or screwsĀ 

  • Build and install box headersĀ 

  • Frame openings for mechanical and other openings in accordance with structural drawingsĀ 

  • Ensure walls are squareĀ 

  • Install door jambs in framing as requiredĀ 

  • Frame block outs for doors, windows, and other openingsĀ 

  • Install access panels in framing, grid ceiling systems, sheathing or cement board in accordance with specifications and local building codesĀ 

  • Install flashing at windows and doors and sound and fire caulking as requiredĀ 

  • Complete other responsibilities as assignedĀ

Required Skills and ExperienceĀ Ā 

  • High School DiplomaĀ Ā 

  • 4-year relevant work experienceĀ 

  • Able to follow instructions, written and verbalĀ Ā 

  • Follow all safety practicesĀ 

  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment including the physical demands of the jobĀ Ā 

  • Able to lift 50 lbsĀ Ā 

  • Able to stand for 8+ hours to accomplish work tasksĀ 

  • Able to use the tools and processes for the roleĀ 

  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, arm, and multi-limb coordination)Ā 

  • Able to work overtime as scheduledĀ Ā

Work EnvironmentĀ 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to noise, wood products, plastics, lubricants moving mechanical parts and vibration.Ā 

  

Physical DemandsĀ 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.Ā 

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.Ā 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Ā
