Job Overview
This position is to provide leadership to the health center at HoneyRock with collaboration from Wheaton College Student Health Services, the volunteer Medical Director, and Risk Management. The Health Services Supervisor reports to the HoneyRock Associate Executive Director. This position works in the Northwoods of Wisconsin year-round. The hours for this part-time position, on average, are 20 hours per week; 12 months each year. This position pays $32-$33/hr.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides overall leadership for the health services of Wheaton College OAL students, Vanguard gap year students, OAL flex students, seasonal staff, and minors attending summer camp programs. Reports to the HoneyRock volunteer Medical Director for standardization of evidence-based health and quality practices. Maintains confidentiality of health care as well as impartiality. Responsible to licensure board for scope of practice, code of ethics, certification, educational units, and disciplinary actions.
- Manages the recruitment process for employed nurses and nursing assistant(s) for summer. This includes recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and mentoring the development of employed summer staff and those in volunteer positions. The Health Services Supervisor also coordinates and schedules the volunteer nurses and physicians who support the health center during summer camper programs at HoneyRock.
- Coordinates year-round health services. This includes managing health forms on all constituents, managing EMR’s, supplying dietary needs to the kitchen, as well as relaying pertinent as needed health information to program leaders. Responsible for year-round supply ordering, inventory, and medical equipment maintenance. Operates within the health center yearly budget. Completes statistical reports and analysis of medical services provided when needed.
- Serves as the voice of communication to parents/guardians of minors, students, and staff regarding medical issues. Acts as the designated liaison between HoneyRock and Wheaton College Student Health Services.
- Coordinates and collaborates with local physicians, clinics, pharmacies, and mental health providers to effectively care for all constituents. Collaborates with local county health departments and serves as the liaison between HoneyRock and local county health departments.
- Serves as a resource for any additional functions including, but not limited to, task force contribution, training of staff in proper OSHA blood borne pathogens, AED training, medical emergency protocols, HoneyRock specific policies and communicable disease outbreak planning.

Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience preferred with community nursing knowledge
- Passion for caring for children, youth, and young adults
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic medical records
- Strong knowledge of current ACA standards
- Current CPR Certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of Wisconsin Health and Safety Laws and Practice
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
