Description
As a model writer on the Design Team, you’ll need a deep interest in writing that is concise, considered, and useful. It’s your responsibility to craft language our models can both use and learn from as well as be an active participant in the design process. You’ll be expected to recognize a bad user experience and have the passion and perseverance to create a great one. You’ll work with model designers to ensure every element of the experience works together. You’ll also work with engineers to deliver on challenging details while thinking through feedback, questioning assumptions, and articulating your point of view. This role also contributes to broader discussions about style and voice across Apple.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 10 years experience as a writer. A broad knowledge of Apple domains, platforms, and approaches. A deep interest in iterative content design, experimentation, and prototyping. An ability to understand how the nuances of technical stacks and architecture influence writing and design. A willingness to see writing as a team sport.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to translate ambiguous, technical topics into human language anyone can understand. Mastery of both high-level, idea-driven thinking as well as a focus on the details. Ability to design a customer experience online, offline, or in an app. Experience with turn-based, conversational design. Deep curiosity about technology, data, and the philosophical questions they create. Intuition for the craft of design and an appetite for the technical complexity necessary to create something simple. Dedication to the craft of writing.
