Description
The Technical Lead, Technical Production will lead the strategy, design, and execution of core technical systems supporting live events and activations across Worldwide Events. This role owns end-to-end infrastructure planning - from fiber backbone and network drops to LED wall routing/switching, comms systems, live audio and lighting systems, camera systems, and power design - ensuring every show runs on a resilient, well-documented, and scalable technical foundation. You will be the technical authority responsible for producing signal flow and infrastructure drawings, coordinating with venue and vendor partners, and leading a team through the planning and on-site execution of complex, high-visibility live events. This role requires deep technical expertise across broadcast, AV infrastructure, IP-based media transport, power systems, technical design, and the ability to operate flawlessly under executive-facing, no-fail conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience in technical production, broadcast engineering, or systems integration for live events, concerts, or corporate productions. Demonstrated expertise designing and deploying fiber, power and network infrastructure for live events, including redundancy and failover planning. Deep knowledge of LED display systems, including routing, switching, processor configuration (e.g., Megapixel, ROE, Barco), and signal distribution. Proven experience designing and managing comms/intercom systems (e.g., Clear-Com, RTS) and RF coordination for large-scale productions. Strong knowledge of live audio systems, including Dante network design/troubleshooting and support for spatial/immersive audio formats. Familiarity with lighting power distribution and lighting consoles such as grandMA. Working knowledge of camera systems and formats, including spatial capture workflows. Understanding of SMPTE ST 2110 and IP-based video/audio transport workflows, including network infrastructure (VLANs, switches, routing). Strong understanding of power distribution for live events, including load balancing, UPS systems, generator backup, and failover design. Proficiency creating signal flow and system architecture drawings using tools such as Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or Visio. Proven ability to lead technical execution in high-pressure, executive-facing, no-fail environments. Experience leading venue technical surveys and assessing infrastructure feasibility across diverse locations. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and vendor teams, translating complex technical concepts into clear communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting global keynote events, concerts, or large-scale corporate productions. Familiarity with broadcast infrastructure and live streaming/encoding workflows. Experience working in highly confidential environments with strict security and quality standards. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong ability to influence and align stakeholders across disciplines. Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
