Android Performance EngineerÂ
We're looking for a Senior Android Performance Engineer to ensure our flagship AndroidÂ
application delivers a smooth, responsive, and resource-efficient user experience. YouÂ
will optimize our complex app (UI, rendering, frameworks) by identifying, diagnosing,Â
resolving performance bottlenecks, and implementing robust performance tests, with aÂ
deep focus on memory, energy, power, and thermal performance.Â
ResponsibilitiesÂ
• Lead Android performance profiling (jank, ANRs, memory, thermal) across UI,Â
rendering, and app frameworks.Â
• Optimize & fix Android UI, rendering, and system performance issues.Â
• Define, track, and report accurate Android performance KPIs (memory, energy,Â
power, thermal).Â
• Develop, maintain, and integrate performance monitoring tools & automatedÂ
frameworks .Â
• Implement & maintain specialized performance tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) for CI/CD.Â
• Act as Android performance SME, guiding teams, reviewing architecture, andÂ
staying current.Â
• Perform in-depth data analysis, utilizing and developing custom analysis tools forÂ
actionable insights.Â
Minimum QualificationsÂ
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.Â
• 5+ years in Android performance engineering.Â
• Expertise in Java/Kotlin for Android.Â
• Deep understanding of Android OS architecture & performance pitfalls.Â
• Expert proficiency with Android profiling tools (Profiler, Perfetto, systrace,Â
dumpsys, ADB, Battery Historian).Â
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex performance issues.Â
• Adept at measuring and interpreting memory, energy, power, and thermalÂ
metrics.Â
• Strong Android UI optimization skills (View hierarchies, RecyclerView,Â
animations, overdraw).Â
• Strong understanding of mobile system architecture (CPU/GPU, memory, powerÂ
management).Â
• Experience with performance testing frameworks (e.g., AndroidÂ
Macrobenchmark, Microbenchmark, Espresso).Â
• Effective communication of intricate performance analysis to diverseÂ
stakeholders,Â
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and thrive in fast paced, deadline-driven environments.Â
Preferred QualificationsÂ
• Knowledge of power management and battery-life analysis techniques.Â
• Experience with automated testing for native iOS/macOS applications, utilizingÂ
the XCUITest framework.Â
• Experience with Mac or iOS application development using Swift/Swift-UI orÂ
Objective-C.
