RDR is seeking an Operator to round with our Utility Line Installation and Maintenance Division in Ohio.


Job Summary:

  • Safely dig and expose live utility lines without damaging other utilities in the area. 
  • Dig with guidance from ground spotter.
  • Identify soil conditions and properly slope or bench trench to ensure safety of employees while working in trench.
  • Install trench boxes in trench when conditions prevent safe trench entry to ensure employees are safe while working. 
  • Assist other employees as needed. 
  • Perform daily pre-operation inspections and complete equipment checklist logbooks. 
  • Report issues to Foreman and/or Supervisor. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and perform routine field maintenance as needed
  • Follow all RDR safety policies and requirements.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with crew members and supervisors.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and ability to identify mechanical issues.
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to work safely around crews and equipment.
  • Perform labor duties as needed.
  • Final dress work with excavator preferred.



Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience operating a mini excavator.
  • Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Physical endurance to stand for long periods of time as well as walk, squat, crouch.
