Position Summary:

The Equipment and Facilities Manager oversees the operations, maintenance, and strategic management of the local manufacturing plant and office facilities.

This role is responsible for planning and coordinating all maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, and maintaining facilities that support efficient operations. The manager ensures compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, optimizes operational performance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives across the plant and office environments.

What to Expect:

Facilities Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Cuyahoga Falls manufacturing facility and production operation to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Lead manufacturing site maintenance managers through a matrixed relationship to coordinate with various departments to understand facility needs and ensure alignment with production goals.
  • Work with corporate real estate team to stay in compliance with each site's lease obligations, including communication with landlord regarding approval and updates to projects impacting the site.
  • Seek out processes and collateral to standardize across all sites.

Maintenance Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
  • Schedule and supervise routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Utilize AMMS system to track and report ongoing maintenance work orders and downtime.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Assist manufacturing plant resources in ensuring capital and expense budgets are in place to meet leasehold obligations and ensure continued optimal facility operations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to control expenses.

Vendor and Contractor Management:

  • Engage with Procurement Department to identify and negotiate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services. This involves evaluating performance and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.

Equipment Reliability:

  • Work to support the plants to implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Utilize data and analytics to optimize maintenance schedules and improve equipment performance.

Emergency Response Planning:

  • Develop and update emergency response plans for facilities.
  • Conduct drills to ensure the readiness of staff in case of emergencies.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in facilities and maintenance operations.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead a skilled maintenance team in the home plant and contribute to building and supporting strong maintenance teams throughout manufacturing.
  • Provide training and mentorship to enhance the team's technical capabilities.

Environmental Sustainability:

  • Implement and promote sustainable practices within manufacturing facilities.
  • Working with the Director of Sustainability, Identify opportunities for energy conservation and waste reduction.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field- preferred.
  • Proven experience in facilities and maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, systems, and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
