GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Aerospace Planning Engineer (QPE) acts as conduit between the Engineering and Quality departments. This position will help review customer specifications and drawings to help prepare for the manufacture and inspection of all new aerospace work. This will include both tooling and production part machining. The QPE will collaborate with all departments to ensure that the completed work can get through the inspection department seamlessly.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Review customer specifications received from flow down documents
- Review customer prints and prepare for inspection
- If prints are made in-house, aide Prospect designers in making prints match the requirements needed from customer specifications.
- At times the QPE will prepare prints himself/ herself from the 3D designs when timing dictates the need to expedite.
- Aid Project Management in visual inspection or buy off in from CMS reports.
- Train as back up in CMS to make reports and submit results to the customer.
- Work HighQA Software in conjunction with CMS Department.
- Assist in creation of FAI templates and participate in the APQP/PPAP documentation processes as required.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T
- 3D CAD and drafting experience
- Ability to work on several projects at once
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- BS in Engineering or related field or 5-10 yrs equivalent experience
- Must be able to work in a shop floor environment for up to 10hrs/day
- Must have experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Overtime is required, 4 day work week option available
