Systems Engineers All Levels

Amentum is seeking technical System Engineer professionals with related education and/or experience to support Naval projects at Dahlgren, VA. You will be part of our growing systems & software engineering team and contribute to our diverse skillsets across multiple prime contracts in support of our Centers of Excellence. We are looking for individuals to join our team atmosphere that are eager to make a difference by solving complex Digital Engineering challenges. Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills and interact directly with customers and engineering personnel.

The work location for this position is on-site in Dahlgren, Virginia where we have provided support to the customer for over 50 years!

**Position contingent on contract award which is expected in 2026**

All Levels Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

• Candidates must maintain a valid Real ID driver’s license required for access to customer site and have access to reliable transportation (rideshare options such as Uber, Lyft etc. are not permitted) as this position requires occasional travel between local worksites during the week.

Senior Level Minimum Requirements and Skills

• Ten (10) years of experience in DoD systems architectures, research, design, development, and test and evaluation, or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or Computer Science and six (6) years of experience in DoD systems architectures, research, design, development, and test and evaluation.
• In addition,  Five (5) years of experience working with either  system engineering, requirements management and architecture tools (such as CORE, Rhapsody, MagicDraw, DOORS, Requisite Pro, OPNET, NETWARS, Caliber RM, and executable UM) or specialized experience in the areas of maritime, launcher, missile, weapon, or weapon control systems concept definition, design, integration, and engineering.

Mid Level Minimum Requirements and Skills

• Five (5) years of experience in DoD systems architectures, research, design, development, and test and evaluation, or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, operations research, or Computer Science and two (2) years of experience in Department of Defense (DoD) systems architectures, research, design, development, and test and evaluation.

Desired experience:

•  Experience with requirement management, system design, and implementation of systems that possess qualities such as portability, scalability, and interoperability.
• Experience in working with system engineering, requirements management and architecture tools (such as CORE, Rhapsody, MagicDraw, DOORS, Requisite Pro, OPNET, NETWARS, CaliberRM, and executable UM). This includes experience in the development of DoDAF products including OV and OSD. 
• Systems requirements management, systems engineering design, utilizing systems engineering software tools and performing systems engineering design, integration engineering, test and evaluation engineering activities.

Entry Level Minimum Requirements and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, operations research, or Computer Science.
