Job DetailsJob Location: King George, VA 22485Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeOverview SCCI is seeking a skilled senior-level Mechanical Engineer to join our team! In this position, you will provide technical expertise in the areas of maritime, launcher, missile, weapon, or weapon control systems concept definition, design, integration, and engineering. You will also perform mechanical engineering analysis and design, utilize mechanical engineering software tools, coordinate mechanical fabrication, and use mechanical engineering test techniques for an Engineering Services contract supporting Maritime C2 and Warfare/Weapons Control systems, as well as future warfare development. This position is in support of future work expected in April 2027. This position may require occasional travel and will be located in Dahlgren, VA.   SCCI offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability benefits, 401k with Company Match, time off consisting of 2 weeks of paid vacation, 48 hours of sick/personal leave, and 11 paid Holidays.   Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and update clear and technically accurate mechanical drawings based on design tolerances and specifications Provide analysis of the mechanical requirements for the introduction of new equipment, reconfiguration of existing equipment, or proposed changes in the usage of space Provide technical support for Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) meetings, working groups, peer reviews, technical interchange meetings, and periodic system status coordination meetings Consider requirements, operational needs, cost, test and evaluation strategy, interoperability, suitability, technical and operational integration risks, and schedule when developing, revising, assessing, or providing input to system engineering products, including Engineering Change Proposals, Interface Requirements Specifications, and Technical White Papers   Essential Skills and Experience:   Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active Secret Security Clearance Ten (10) years professional technical experience including at least five (5) years specialized experience in the areas of maritime, launcher, missile, weapon, or weapon control systems concept definition, design, integration, and engineering Specialized experience as a mechanical engineer performing mechanical engineering analysis and design, utilizing mechanical engineering software tools, coordinating mechanical fabrication, and mechanical engineering test techniques Engineering experience in the mechanical design, development, and testing of missile launcher and support equipment Experience with structural design and analysis, finite element analysis, fluid dynamics, and thermal dynamics.
