About the Role:

The Machine Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by efficiently operating and maintaining production machinery to ensure high-quality output. This position involves setting up, operating, adjusting, and monitoring various production machinery, including but not limited to, a CNC press brake machine, a pem nut machine, deburring machine. The Operator will be responsible for identifying and resolving minor mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed. Attention to detail is essential to detect defects and maintain product standards. Ultimately, the Machine Operator contributes to the smooth and continuous flow of manufacturing operations, supporting overall productivity and product excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of related experience, ideally in automotive or sheet metal manufacturing.
  • Experience operating a press brake machine, with an ability and willingness to learn new machinery, software, or processes.
  • Hands-on knowledge of machining, metal fabrication.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret production instructions and technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Forklift certified.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
  • Capable of lifting and moving materials or tools up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for machine operation and part handling.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required for machine setup and maintenance.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to safely operate machinery and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in machine operation or manufacturing technology.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Ability to use standard inspection equipment such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues independently.
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery to produce components according to specification and production goals.
  • Set up machines for production runs, including adjusting settings and tooling to meet specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with production standards.
  • Maintain and organize required tooling, perform routine cleaning, and complete basic maintenance tasks to keep machines in proper working condition.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve machining processes, workflows, and efficiency within the shop.
  • Accurately record production data, including quantities, downtime, and maintenance activities, to support reporting and operational needs.
