Job Purpose
Responsible for development, implementation, and support of manufacturing systems, processes and procedures in fast-paced metal fabrication environment. Â Processes include various welding operations - spot welding, robotic welding, MIG & TIG manual welding. Â The Manufacturing Engineer will utilize lean principles along with knowledge of equipment and tools to effect change and continuous improvement. Â The work of the Manufacturing Engineer is often hands-on, interacting with shop floor personnel, the Engineering team and Manufacturing groups.
 Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing processes in an industrial environment
- Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, assembly processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities and quality control standards
- Analyze space requirements and workflow for maximum efficiency
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements
- Maintains documentation required for manufacturing (revise drawings, provide accurate work & assembly instructions, workmanship standards and process procedures)
- Incorporates specifications into design, processes or techniques and provides feedback to capture lessons learned
- Identifies methods to reduce costs and increase productivity
- Perform various Manufacturing Engineer duties as assigned
- Keep organized list of departmental expectations
- Document all engineering processes and maintain them
- Develop processes to ensure customer specifications, tolerances and quality expectations are met
- Develop poka-yoke / error proofing methods, welding fixtures, etc., as needed
- Ensures facility & equipment conducive to producing quality products
- Ensure SOP’s are followed
- Confer with production staff regarding product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
- Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities to facilitate efficiency
- Participate in various training activities as required
- Training new and existing employees to documented engineering processes
- Ensure safety is factored into all processes, improvement initiatives, etc.
- Re-engineer methods and processes to improve safety
- Ensure a safe workplace, report any issues to Safety managerÂ
- Ensure all accidents are reported

Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Work Experience
- Experience in various welding processes
- Able to read & interpret customer drawings & fabrication documentation
- Proficient using measuring tools
- Experience supporting a manufacturing environment
- Experience with laser cutting programming & operations, press brake programming & operations and welding a plus
- Experience with tooling / fixture design a plus
- Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills
- Ability to analyze production data, reports, spreadsheets & graphs
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to work in & promote a team environment
- Experience with Pro-E CREO 3.0 a plus
