GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

 

The Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Administration will provide leadership and oversight in the areas of NCAA and conference compliance, student-athlete services, and athletics business operations. This role ensures adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA standards while enhancing the holistic student-athlete experience. The position serves as a liaison across campus and supports the operational integrity of the Athletics Department.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Comprehensive understanding of NCAA Division l and ll bylaws; regulatory affairs, and institutional policies.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

· Serve as Athletics liaison to DBU Housing, Financial Affairs, Human Resources, Registrar, and Financial Aid offices.

· Oversee compliance with all NCAA, Lone Star Conference, and institutional regulations.

· Support student-athlete development initiatives, including Patriots Prepared and Breakfast of Champions.

· Coordinate Athletics business operations including payroll, purchasing, reconciliations, and facility rentals.

· Manage compliance education and documentation for coaches and student-athletes.

· Lead onboarding for Athletics staff in coordination with Human Resources.

· Track departmental budgets, scholarship allocations, and financial reporting metrics.

· Represent DBU as the institutional Compliance Officer to NCAA and conference bodies.

· Assign and track required NCAA Coaching Education Modules annually.

· Attend NCAA Convention and Regional Rules seminars.

· Coordinate Transfer Portal entries and NCAA transfer tracers.

· Submit waivers (medical hardship, eligibility) through RSRO and conference portals.

· Issue and track compliance forms, insurance, and personal data for all student-athletes.

· Manage Compliance Assistant data for initial and continuing eligibility.

· Monitor official/unofficial visits and associated paperwork.

· Facilitate academic services: study hall, grade checks, advising liaison, enrollment tracking.

· Manage academic reporting (APP, Graduation Rates, Academic Census).

· Update and distribute student-athlete handbook and compliance manuals annually.

· Track scholarships, financial aid packaging, and tuition application with campus offices.

· Oversee IRL and Eligibility Center certifications before participation or travel.

· Submit participation lists, eligibility checklists, and sports sponsorship data to the conference.

· Coordinate and reconcile all departmental purchases, POs, requisitions, and credit cards.

· Supervise business GAs and support summer camp financial compliance.

· Secure payments for facility rentals and ensure coaches are informed of rental use.

· Prepare and submit all NCAA audit data, EADA reports, and postseason expense reports.

· Represent DBU at conference compliance meetings and provide education updates to staff.

· Other duties as assigned.

 

WORK SCHEDULE: 

 A minimum 40 hours per week or more to meet the requirements of the program. Extra hours are often required after 5pm and on weekends.

 

WORK LOCATION: 

This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211 

 

Qualifications
  • Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.
