Available Shifts:
Day Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Second Shift: Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
Third Shift Option A: Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
Third Shift Option B: Tuesday–Saturday, 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
About the Role
The Behavioral Health Specialist provides hands-on, trauma-informed support to youth at Wellspring Living’s Receiving Hope Center. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, this role helps participants build healthy routines, coping skills, independence, and positive behaviors while creating a safe and supportive environment.
Through relationship-building, positive behavior support, and de-escalation strategies, the Specialist models healthy behaviors, helps participants navigate challenges as they work toward healing and growth, and supports the development of essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Supervision & Focus Area Leadership
Provide direct supervision to participants and guidance for behavioral health technicians.
Develop daily schedules, assign tasks, and ensure complete follow-through by the end of each shift.
Follow all Receiving Center policies, procedures, and Participant Handbook guidelines (dress code, hygiene, medication administration, etc.).
Report and record participant progress across various interventions.
Take lead responsibility for writing or collecting staff statements regarding critical incidents occurring on assigned shifts.
Provide leadership and expertise in at least one specialized focus area (e.g., Bilingual support, Nutrition/Meal Prep, Fitness, Medication oversight, Pro-social activities, Academic assistance, Facilities/compliance, or Therapeutic yoga).
Maintaining Program Structure & Daily Operations
Lead skills-building groups and activities during non-school hours.
Actively engage with participants in group or one-on-one settings to ensure center stability and minimize critical incidents.
Complete 15-minute bed checks during sleeping hours, complete routine grocery shopping, meal planning, and meal preparation.
Administer and document medication usage according to program protocols; administer random drug screens as needed.
Maintain accurate, detailed daily documentation and Electronic Health Record (EHR) entries.
Assist with facility security, including monitoring security cameras, conducting safety checks, performing routine cleaning, and participating in crisis de-escalation.
Provide culturally competent care for trauma-impacted participants, serving all individuals without regard to race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, or spiritual beliefs.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, education, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of related experience in mental or behavioral health, specifically working with adolescents and families.
Valid GA driver’s license maintained throughout employment.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs); ability to navigate EHR software.
Current CPR (biennial) and First Aid (triennial) certifications from a licensed healthcare professional, or completion within the first 60 days of employment.
Documentation of at least two professional references and one personal reference attesting to capability and suitability for working with children and vulnerable populations.

Position Requirements
Employment is contingent upon completing pre-employment screenings and maintaining ongoing compliance throughout employment, including:Â
Criminal history background check, fingerprinting, and drug testing.
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
Verification of professional and personal references.
Completion of a physical health screening exam by a licensed healthcare professional within 30 days of hire to clear infectious/injury risks.
Candidates must not have been determined, based on credible evidence (such as a court or jury finding, department investigation, or other reliable evidence), to have abused, neglected, sexually exploited, or deprived a child or adult, or to have caused serious injury to any person through intentional or grossly negligent misconduct. Candidates must also provide an oral or written statement to this effect at the time of application. Wellspring Living will make reasonable efforts to obtain and evaluate references from previous employers.
Physical & Working Conditions
Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Ability to perform physical duties and work long periods at a computer.
Moderate local travel required for participant, program, and training needs, with occasional travel beyond the metro Atlanta area.
