The Business & Leisure Sales Manager is a multi-tasking machine with strong community relations and an excellent reputation amongst clients. They also support our hotel family and create an epic experience for our guests. And just to clarify, they still like a good martini. 


Working with an awesome team and reporting to the Director of Sales, the Business & Leisure Sales Manager will be responsible for prospecting clients and cultivating relationships. Using previous experience in the hotel sales arena, the Sales Manager is directly responsible for developing Business Travel, Group Events and Travel Industry business to meet revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Generation & Account Development

  • Identify, prospect, and convert new business opportunities within both corporate and leisure transient market segments at the local, regional, and global levels.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans based on market intelligence, hotel performance, and industry trends to maximize revenue and market share.
  • Manage and grow negotiated corporate accounts, leisure travel partnerships, and key travel industry relationships.
  • Prepare and present customized proposals, respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), negotiate rates and contracts, and secure new business opportunities.

Business Development & Relationship Management

  • Consistently exceed revenue and production goals through proactive sales activities, including outside sales calls, client meetings, presentations, site inspections, networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with travel buyers, travel management companies, consortia partners, travel advisors, and key decision-makers.
  • Represent Virgin Hotels Collection in industry associations, networking organizations, and community events to strengthen brand awareness and generate new business opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for clients by providing creative solutions, exceptional service, and strategic guidance.

Market Intelligence & Sales Strategy

  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, supply and demand fluctuations, and account production to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Utilize analytics, reporting tools, and sales systems to track performance, forecast business, and measure sales effectiveness.
  • Maintain timely communication with clients and internal hotel teams to ensure seamless execution of business opportunities and guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management, Marketing, Operations, and Reservations teams to align sales strategies with overall hotel objectives.

Professional Development

  • Continuously enhance professional selling skills through Virgin Hotels Collection training programs, Global Sales initiatives, industry events, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technology, and best practices within corporate and leisure travel segments.

Culture & Service Excellence

  • Serve as a passionate ambassador of the Virgin Hotels Collection brand and culture.
  • Deliver exceptional service by building genuine relationships with clients and colleagues.

Background must-have: 

  • Current legal authorization to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hotel sales, hospitality, or related industry experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Working knowledge of hotel sales processes, transient market segments, property management systems, CRM platforms, and transient booking channels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel as needed for sales calls, client meetings, industry events, trade shows, and business development activities.
